The 2024 Bedfred Challenge Cup Semi-Finals were confirmed today following victories by Wigan Warriors and Warrington Wolves.

In the day’s earlier kick off, Wigan eased their way past Castleford Tigers by a score of 60 points to 6. Liam Marshall wracked up four tries in a dominant Wigan performance, with tries also from Brad O’Neill, Bevan French, Adam Keighran, Abbas Miski (2), Kruise Leeming, Jake Wardle, and Tyler Dupree. Harry Smith added six conversions to complete the rout.

Wigan now face a rematch of last year’s semi final as they will face Hull KR on the weekend of May 18th-19th.

The day’s second quarter final turned out to be another big scoring game as Warrington ran out 31-8 victors at St Helens.

After a tightly contested first half, both teams could barely be separated, going into half time with the score at 7-6 to the Wire. During the second half however, Warrington put their foot on the gas and didn’t look back as they booked a clash with the Huddersfield Giants in May’s semi-finals.

Josh Thewlis, Matty Ashton, Connor Wrench, James Harrison, and George Williams all crossed the whitewash for the Wolves, with Josh Thewlis adding four conversions and a penalty, plus a drop goal from George Williams rounded out their total. Saints solitary try was scored by Konrad Hurrell, and converted by Jonathan Bennison, who also added a penalty in the second half.
