The Challenge Cup Quarter-Finals made for a quieter week disciplinary-wise, with only three players facing charges.

The biggest case of the week was arguably Castleford’s Sylvester Namo, who was slapped with an initial Grade F charge on Monday, following a tackle that led to a horrific injury to Willie Isa. However, at tribunal, the charge was downgraded to Grade E, and Namo was slapped with a five-game ban, and £750 fine. Castleford have yet to confirm whether or not they will choose to contest this charge.

Bayley Sironen of the Catalans Dragons was also up in front of the tribunal this week to answer a Grade E charge of Head Contact. Unlike Namo, however, Sironen was found not guilty by the tribunal, and no further action will be taken.

Finally, Hull KR’s Sauaso “Jessie” Sue was handed a one-game ban by the disciplinary panel following a Grade B charge of dangerous contact. Hull KR chose to challenge this at the tribunal, but the ban was upheld. Sue will therefore miss the Robins’ weekend trip to Catalans.
