The merry-go-round of players continues to gather pace in East Yorkshire as both teams add to their options in the halves. Firstly, the Robins have added Castleford Tigers half-back Danny Richardson to their ranks on a loan deal until the end of the season, whilst sending Ben Reynolds (a relative newcomer in his own right) on loan to rivals FC, also on a loan until the end of the season.

This latest move comes days after the clubs swapped Jack Brown and Yusuf Aydin, and raises a fair few questions, especially on the red and white side of the river, with Reynolds only joining Rovers a few months ago from Featherstone on a two-year deal. One would imagine there will be more opportunities in the first team to be had over in the West side of the city. With KR’s first-choice half back pairing in such good form, opportunities there would have been hard to come by, a problem that will no doubt now face Richardson.

Talking to the Hull FC website, director of rugby Richie Myler had this to say: “We’re pleased to add someone of Ben’s quality and experience of the game to our ranks for the remainder of the season.”

“Half-back is a position we’ve been keen to add some depth to in recent weeks, and Ben’s attributes, with his kicking game in particular, will compliment those of Jake (Trueman), Morgan (Smith) and Jack (Charles) over the coming months.”

“I’m excited to see what he can add to our group, starting this weekend against London.”

Further to this news, Hull FC also announced the loan signing of Tiaki Chan on a short-term loan from Wigan yesterday. All three new signings are expected to go straight into the FC squad that travel to fellow strugglers London Broncos on Sunday.
