Wakefield Trinity continues their impressive rebuilding efforts this week as the West Yorkshire club announced two new signings for the 2025 season. Firstly, it was announced that they had signed Cameron Scott from Hull FC on a two-year deal with an option of a third, then just yesterday they followed that up with the announcement that they had signed Olly Russell from the Huddersfield Giants on a whopping four-year deal. Both of these players will move to Wakefield ifrom the start of the 2025 season and join the already announced signings of Tom Johnstone and Mike McMeeken.
Another team on a rebuilding mission is Hull FC, who added to their squad for the 2025 season this week with the announcement that they had signed Amir Bourouh from the Salford Red Devils. The 23 year-old hooker has signed a three-year deal with the Black and Whites. In further good news for FC fans, promising academy graduate Denive Balmforth has signed a one-year contract extension to remain a balck-and-white for the 2025 season.
Hull FC’s cross-city rivals Hull KR have also added to their squad for next season by announcing the signing of Bradford Bulls prop forward Eribe Doro on a two-year contract from 2025. Doro has earned many plaudits for his displays for the Bulls this season, and will add some heft to the KR pack next season, which will also include already announced star signing Jared Waerea-Hargreaves.
Leigh Leopards will be hoping their trend for impressive overseas signings will continue with their newest announced addition, David Armstrong who will join in 2025 on a three-year deal from NRL outfit Newcastle Knights. The 23 year-old full back made his NRL debut earlier this season, and currently has five tries from five appearances. He will no doubt be hoping to continue that try scoring form in leopard print next season.
Finally, in a piece of news from last week, Franklin Pele joined the Bradford Bulls in the Championship, following his Hull FC release. Pele joins the Bulls on a deal until the end of the season, following a brief spell in East Yorkshire, only arriving in Hull at the start of the season.
