It is important to point out that at the time of writing, this has not been confirmed, or denied by Hull FC, but it does seem that Jordan Abdull has been released by the Airlie Birds before the 2025 Super League season has begun.
In an article written elsewhere, it seems that the returning hero, who started his career at Hull FC, was not included in a photo shoot yesterday, and within 24 hours, a story has surfaced that he has seemingly been released from the club.
It has long been known that Jordan has been battling various injuries, particularly with his knees and that it is this that has got the better of him and forced Hull’s hand.
While it is also known that new arrival Cade Cust has been making a very big impression in pre-season training, John Cartwright has also got young stars Callum Kemp and Jack Charles to call on in the halves, along with utility spine player Logan Moy, when necessary.
Online, various publications have said that Abdull is possibly heading to Leigh Leopards instead, because of their well-known search for a half back, while Adrian Lam’s side have also been linked with a move for Salford half Marc Sneyd.
As the merry-go-round continues, the Hull Daily Mail have also claimed that the Black & Whites have made a big money offer to bring Sneyd back to the MKM Stadium, as a direct replacement for Abdull, although there is no confirmation of this from either club or Sneyd himself, yet.
However, the future seems unclear for Abdull, pending confirmation of his release, but it has also seemingly thrown up a possible story elsewhere, whichever publication you choose to believe.
One story is that, seemingly Abdull was going to be playing with injections every week, and with Cartwright having given him the number 6 shirt for the new season, this would beg to inform us that everything in pre-season had been progressing well, if indeed anything can be read into that.
However, it now seems likely that he has been released, with confirmation presumably surfacing from the club in due course.
