Having been contacted by a disgruntled, disabled fan, I have contacted Castleford Tigers regarding tickets for carers at the forthcoming testimonial game for Joe Westerman between Castleford Tigers and Hull FC.

I can confirm that there are no carer’s concessionary free tickets to attend the game, meaning any disabled person wishing to attend the game will have to pay £15 for their own ticket and another £15 for a ticket for their carer.

This is simply to cover the costs that Joe Westerman himself has incurred in staging this testimonial event.

Having spoken to the manager in the ticket office at Castleford, I have been able to confirm that this is not the full price that the Tigers will be charging for Super League match tickets, which will cost £25.

It is also important to point out that carers are not charged for tickets for competitive matches at the Mend-A-Hose Jungle.

Junior tickets for the match are £8 and a family ticket for two adults and two children costs £40.

All tickets are available through the  Castleford Tigers website.

EDITOR’S UPDATE: Since this column was published, Joe Westerman has reached out to us via X to state that carer’s tickets are indeed available to those who are eligible. For any further information, please email JW13787@hotmail.com. A screenshot of Joe’s tweet has been attached below for full transparency.
