Well, well, well, would you look at that? Another victory for a Robin in 2025! What a year it’s been. By my count, I’ve been ahead for most of, if not the whole season, wrapping up our first annual predictions contest by a margin of nearly sixty points. Well played to Ian for a good competition, and I hope we’ll be back at it in 2026, only bigger and better!
The contest was only for the regular season, but just for fun, here’s my picks for this weekend’s playoff games:
- Leigh Leopards 16 – Wakefield Trinity 22
- Leeds Rhinos 26 – St Helens 18
The above results would mean the semi-finals would be Hull KR vs Wakefield Trinity & Wigan Warriors vs Leeds Rhinos. If I were picking who i would want to win this weekend, we’d have a Wigan vs Leigh semi-final, but I think there’s going to be a shock this weekend, and to overlook Wakefield would do them a great disservice. I’m not willing to go on the record and predict a Grand Final at this stage, but, once again, if you were to ask me what I would like to see (figure of speech, I can’t see much of anything), then Hull KR would be taking to the Old Trafford pitch to take on Leigh Leopards. However, the only certainty in elimination rugby league is that there are no certainties, and there’s a lot of rugby to be played between now and October 11th, and I for one can’t wait!
