England head coach Shaun Wayne today named his 24-man squad for the upcoming Ashes series against Australia.

St Helens are the most represented Super League team with five players, Wigan, Leeds, and Hull KR each have three players in the squad, while Wakefield have two, and Warrington and Leigh both have one representative each.

Notable names from the NRL include AJ Brimson, who changed his allegiance from Australia earlier this year, as well as Kai Pearce-Paul, Herbie Farnworth, John Bateman, and Morgan Smithies.

Perhaps most notable, however is who hasn’t been selected. Reigning Man of Steel, Jake Connor, has failed to make the team, despite an outstanding season in 2025. There are also no places for Warrington’s Danny Walker, Wigan’s Brad O’Neill, or Hull FC’s Lewis Martin, despite his prolific try scoring record.

England squad: John Bateman (North Queensland Cowboys), AJ Brimson (Gold Coast Titans), Joe Burgess (Hull KR), Daryl Clark (St Helens), Herbie Farnworth (Dolphins), Ethan Havard (Wigan Warriors), Morgan Knowles (St Helens), Matty Lees (St Helens), Mikey Lewis (Hull KR), Jez Litten (Hull KR), Mike McMeeken (Wakefield Trinity), Harry Newman (Leeds Rhinos), Mikolaj Oledzki (Leeds Rhinos), Tom Johnstone (Wakefield Trinity), Kai Pearce-Paul (Newcastle Knights), Harry Smith (Wigan Warriors), Morgan Smithies (Canberra Raiders), Owen Trout (Leigh Leopards), Alex Walmsley (St Helens), Jake Wardle (Wigan Warriors), Kallum Watkins (Leeds Rhinos), Jack Welsby (St Helens), George Williams (Warrington Wolves), Dom Young (Newcastle Knights)
